Loverboy

speaking of good music, buying Brett Dennen's new album Loverboy is a MUST
A talented musician, a good cook, an adventurer, an authentic advocate, and a friend. Like, one of those friends that pulls through, that makes you laugh when everyone else seems uncomfortable (which has happened a few times. ha), a friend that shows up and supports. And just to make the whole package better he's swooped up one of my favorite people in the whole world to play guitar and keys with him. "Do you like my new crew?" he said to me with a chuckle. of course. Here's a little behind the scenes of Brett showing some gratitude, sharing his album, and acknowledging his girlfriend like a real man.

my first time using the 360* app. a little rough around the edges but I had to capture the family dinner which in my opinion was the perfect record release party.

It would be wrong of me to leave this post without discussing the Charlie Sheen run-in.
We were all caught off guard when Charlie Sheen walked by us backstage to surprise Jimmy Kimmel with that smooch and even more surprised when he signed Brett's album and handed it to someone in the audience. You can watch it here

I just happened to have my new handy toy phone in hand when it all happened. pretty classic

Have I sold you on the album yet? Not that I need to, it sells itself. Enjoy your day rocking out to Loverboy

Encinitas

I was born a few miles away from what I refer to as my favorite town in the world: Encinitas. The self realization center is my favorite place to sit and below it is my favorite place to surf. I read Autobiography of a Yogi in India and was doing a teacher training with Tim Miller 6 months later. Recently, I dove into Anusara yoga and its changing my practice. I'm so honored to connect with a great teacher who's offered me training and a teaching position. Oh, and this is my super friend Jon Marro's hand making making magic yet again. So basically, this video just made me really happy

My life got 10X better last week

when I saw Paul Simon cover "Here Comes the Sun" live
definitely one of those sounds I'd like everyone in the world to experience

Zani's hOMe wherever she goes

I woke up to this
Zani, I hope it's okay that I posted this. It's the reason I have a blog. When something I see, feel, hear, or taste is so good that I want to share it with as many people as possible.
This picture is buddafull! I just keep staring at it. I close my eyes for a moment and wish I could be right next you then I open them and realize that I am. I'm the stone around your neck, the monkey on your back, the sunkissed tawny color in your skin. Thank you so much for taking me on this journey with you. I suggest everyone reading this join Zani on her journey through life. She's sharing some wonderful words and experiences. I haven't been writing much on here so I forward you to Zani's blog. She know exactly what I'm thinking.

Fame: no thanks

I pray to see the day when we stop having the desire to just be famous and quit worshiping celebrities as if they're on a different level. It's out of control. It's definitely not all glitz and glamour. I love how he says when you become famous something gets taken away from you, it's a big thing.

this intelligent, articulate interview is worth watching. Especially if you've ever given or asked someone an autograph.

My CT scan kind of resembles an Alex Gray painting eh?

I acknowledge the privilege of being alive in a human body at this moment, endowed with senses, memories, emotions, thoughts, and the space of mind in its wisdom aspect.

emergency: must find swimsuit

bad thing about blogs-I come across so many cute things and have no idea where to find them.
Like the swimsuit on the right. Basically, I need it. ;) If anyone has any idea who makes this suit or has any ideas as to how I can find it.... I don't know what I'll do, but it will be great.

Super hero friends

Six years ago was my first job in LA. I got my finger bitten off and was eventually slaughtered by a crazy man who carved his license plate number into my face.

What was even worse than that was I found out the true story behind Joey Lawrence's fake tan and how he does his own makeup (we did get him to do "WHOA" though).
It was two long months and even longer nights hanging out at a muddy rest stop. Meeting Jaimie was a saving grace.
She was a sweat heart from Texas and the star of the movie. With it being my first film and all, she had me thinking everyone was nice in the business. :) There are few as special as this girl.
I've loved watching Jaimie use her commitment and passion to create success over the years. She is one of the most determined people I've ever met, it's truly inspiring. Right after giving Jaimie a yoga lesson last week I was driving down the 101 and saw this picture plastered HUGE on the side of a building.

I looked down at my wrist, she had just gifted me with a bracelet that says "What are you grateful for?"

I'm grateful that I'm surrounded with friends that I'm proud of, that remind me daily that we can do ANYTHING WE WANT TO DO!!!! I mean, it's crazy! We can (and should) do anything we want to do. There are a few places in my life I could afford to rearrange and I'm committed to doing it. All thanks to the super heroes around me.

Go see this super hero sharing the big screen with the best of the best. wooo hoooo

do what you love, the rest comes

this is what my daydreams look like

we're making change like it's our job..... oh wait, IT IS!!!!

I talk a lot  about the situation in Congo. Millions of people dead, women being raped every second, and slavery in the mines. The militias are in power; forcing people to turn over their land by raping the women so they can control the plentiful minerals underground. These minerals are Tungsten, Tin, and Tantalum and they are used for OUR electronics. We're funding the worlds deadliest war. We're turning a blind eye to this tragedy. As of now, our government isn't doing much about it. This petition will urge Obama and Clinton to appoint a special envoy to the Congo. We've teamed up with four other organizations and hope for 200,000 signatures. PLEASE sign it and share it with your friends and family. It's the least we can do.
